Terms of Service

1. About Mainto

Mainto ("we", "us") provides a platform that co-ordinates property repairs between tenants, landlords or letting agents, and vetted tradespeople in South West London. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be 18 or over and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for the security of your account credentials.

3. The service

Mainto helps tenants report issues, lets landlords or agents approve work, and matches jobs to vetted tradespeople. We are not the contractor: the repair contract is between the property owner (or their agent) and the tradesperson. We do not provide trade services ourselves and do not warrant the workmanship of any tradesperson.

4. Payments & fees

Payments are processed by Stripe. The agreed quote is charged to the landlord up front and held in escrow. When the job is confirmed completed, Mainto retains a flat £5 platform fee per job and the remainder is transferred to the tradesperson's connected Stripe account. There is no monthly subscription. Refunds or disputes are handled case by case in line with Stripe's rules.

5. Tradesperson obligations

Tradespeople warrant they hold the qualifications, insurance and right-to-work documentation they upload, and that work is carried out to a competent standard and in compliance with applicable regulations.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service: no fraudulent activity, no abusive content, no attempts to circumvent platform fees by taking jobs off-platform, and no interference with the security of the service.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mainto is not liable for the acts or omissions of tradespeople, landlords, agents or tenants. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for any liability that cannot be limited under English law.

8. Privacy

We process personal data to operate the service. Issue media, messages and payment records are retained for audit purposes including Section 11 compliance. Contact us at info@mainto.co.uk for any data request.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or pose a risk to other users.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
